Sunnytown Farmers Market Hosts Sweet Grown Alabama Day Event
Sunnytown Farmers Market hosted a Sweet Grown Alabama Day event on July 22.
Consumers at the market enjoyed locally grown products from 10 local vendors, live music and bouncy houses for the kids. Sweet Grown Alabama Day gave community members the chance to visit Sunnytown Farmers Market and engage with local farmers to ask questions about their food and other agricultural products.
"We loved getting to promote Sweet Grown Alabama and our farmers market at the same time," said Market Manager Bob Plaster. "The kids and families really enjoyed this special day out at the market. Don't forget to buy local."
Sweet Grown Alabama is a non-profit program that connects Alabama consumers to locally grown products. Consumers can find locally grown products at SweetGrownAlabama.org, or by looking for the Sweet Grown Alabama logo at the market, grocery store or restaurant menu.
"When you buy local, you give back to the local community," said Graham Haney from Eufaula Farms. "We appreciate the farmers market working hard to promote our farm and giving us this opportunity to connect with more members of the community."
Sweet Grown Alabama Director Ellie Watson stressed the important role farmers and markets play in boosting the local economy.
"Studies show that for every dollar spent locally, sixty cents is reinvested into the local economy," said Watson. "When you attend special farmers market events and buy products direct from the farm, you are improving your entire community."
The Sunnytown Farmers Market is open Monday - Friday year-round from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
*Everything underlined is what you will change and edit to fit your own description. I also recommend personalizing it a little, like your database page to talk about your market.
