Millbrook Farmers Market is a proud associate member of the state's new agricultural branding program, Sweet Grown Alabama. Established in 2010 as a joint project of the City of Millbrook and the Elmore - Autauga Community Action Committee, Millbrook Farmers Market is a growers-only market open every Tuesday from 8 a.m. until noon from May 12 to August 11. 

“The Millbrook Farmers Market became a member of Sweet Grown Alabama for help in promoting our market and to better engage the consumer about the importance and benefits of locally grown Alabama products,” said Economic Development Director Ann Harper.

Sweet Grown Alabama exists to connect Alabama farmers and families. The non-profit foundation helps farmers and markets promote their products through a convenient online searchable database. Consumers can locate Sweet Grown Alabama farmers and markets in their area by searching the database via zip code or by product.

“Farmers markets are one of the best ways to support a variety of local farmers at once,” said Sweet Grown Alabama Director Ellie Watson. “We love growers only markets like Millbrook Farmers Market, because you can shop with confidence knowing all the items were grown locally by Alabama farmers.”

Millbrook Farmers Market began ten years ago and is supported by the Alabama Farmers Market Authority and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. As the market grows, city leaders plan to expand hours of operation to better serve consumers. They are currently taking high precaution with the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure safety of their consumers and producers.

“Due to COVID-19 , we modified the market layout to separate our vendors better, added hand-washing stations, posted best practices for market customers, and provided our producers with health-related guidelines that we believe are in their best interest and the best interest of their customers,” said Harper.

The market is open from 8 a.m. until noon every Tuesday noon from May 12 to August 11 at the Village Green Park on Main Street. To learn more about Millbrook Farmers
