Peek Farms in Athens is a proud member of the state's agricultural branding program, Sweet Grown Alabama. Operated by Dustin and Ashley Peek for more than ten years, Peek Farms grows beef cattle.
“Growing food while being able to have a connection with our consumers is very important to the success of our farm,” said Dustin. “Sweet Grown Alabama works hard to provide us with opportunities. The promotions the organization provides are invaluable.”
Sweet Grown Alabama exists to connect Alabama farmers and families. The non-profit foundation helps farmers promote their products through a convenient online searchable database. Consumers can find locally grown products in their area by searching the database via zip code or by product.
“Sweet Grown Alabama is proud to represent family farms just like Peek Farms,” said Sweet Grown Alabama Director Ellie Watson. “Consumers can confidently support Peek Farms, knowing they will get high-quality beef products to feed themselves and their families.”
Ashley and Dustin both grew up with an agricultural background in North Alabama. They now run Peek Farms along with their three sons and said they love the farming way of life. As Ashley and Dustin grow their farm, they strive to provide high-quality products to consumers.
“Our Sweet Grown Alabama membership is something we are proud of,” said Ashley. “It is rewarding to know you belong to a strong agricultural family.”
