Sauerkraut

Ingredients:
• 20-28 large heads of Sweet Grown Alabama cabbage, shredded or cut 
• Salt
 
Supplies:
• Churn
• Jar
• Soft Cloth
• String
 
Directions:
  1. Pack cabbage in churn.
  2. Cover cabbage leaves in one cup of salt.
  3. Cover with 3 other cabbage leaves.
  4. Put weight on top and cover.
  5. Watch everyday or 2 for mold.
  6. If water gets low add a little more. Use soft cloth and tie cabbage inside with string.
  7. Leave for 9-10 days .
  8. Put in pan and bring to a boil.
  9. Put in hot jars and seal.
