We started with bee keeping just for a hobby in 2016. That turned into pollination services, then honey sales when my supers were getting too big to manage. My parents retired to a 100 acre plot in Tallassee in 2018. I saw an opportunity to grow some food. So we started with one acre of squash, zucchini, tomato, okra, cantaloupe, watermelon and an assortment of peppers. Now we have six acres(with sore backs and lessons learned) planted with pumpkins added for the fall of 2020. We hope to find our own niche of value added goods in the near future.
Currently we don't sell at the farm, but we are working on that with some Agritourism in mind. We have some stock plants for blueberries and plans to propagate for a 10 acre field. We hope to offer some satsuma, myer lemon, Gold kiwi fruit and peaches at some point!
